Our Family Story

James and I raised two kids in a Craftsman house in Kitsilano, five blocks from the beach and a short bus ride from everything Vancouver tries to balance — mountains, ocean, rain, and a city that speaks dozens of languages at once. Our home reflects that mix: Sunday pancakes, weekday stir-fries, hockey gear by the door, and a bookshelf that cannot decide on one alphabet. We host travelers who want to see Vancouver as we live it — the seawall at sunrise, the produce market on weekends, the best cheap ramen within walking distance, and honest talk about what it means to build a multicultural home in Canada. We are casual, direct, and warm. You will have privacy in your room and inclusion at our table when you want it.

Why We Host

We welcomed exchange students informally for years through our kids' school network. We believe travel is better when you belong somewhere, even briefly. We love meeting people who want real conversation, not a concierge.

Check-in from 4pm. Private room, shared bath, linens, towels, and WiFi included. We have a cat (Miso) — let us know if you have allergies. Street parking only; transit is easy. Checkout by 11am.
