Our Family Story

I live with my wife Mali and our teenage daughter in a wooden house just inside Chiang Mai's old city walls, where mornings begin with monks passing on alms rounds and evenings smell of lemongrass from our kitchen. We are not a resort family — I teach at a local school, Mali runs a small online craft shop, and our daughter is obsessed with football and English pop music. When you stay with us, you will learn Thailand through our routines: how to greet elders, how to eat family-style, how to visit temples respectfully, and how to shop at the morning market without buying the wrong chili. We laugh a lot, eat constantly, and believe good hosting means making people feel calm, not entertained. Chiang Mai has grown busy, but our lane still feels like a village. That is the pace we offer.

Why We Host

I spent a year in Australia as an exchange teacher and remembered how isolating travel can feel without local friends. We want guests to leave Chiang Mai feeling they know a real Thai family — not just the temples in their photos.

Check-in from 3pm. Private room with fan; shared bathroom. Linens, towels, and WiFi included. Please remove shoes indoors and dress modestly for temple visits we may take together. Checkout by 11am.
