Our Family Story

I grew up in Lyon believing every city should smell like butter and browning onions by noon. I now live with my partner Thomas and our toddler in a Croix-Rousse apartment where the windows look over rooftops and the bakery downstairs knows our order. Lyon is France's stomach, but it is also a city of workers, silk history, and practical kindness. We host travelers who want to understand how French families actually eat — the weekday suppers, the market ritual, the long Sunday walk along the Rhône before coming home to roast chicken and salad. We are not tour guides. We share our routines openly: where we buy cheese, which bouchon is worth the hype, and how to ride the metro without stress. If you appreciate good food and direct conversation, you will enjoy our home.

Why We Host

Thomas and I have met travelers through friends for years. The best trips we took abroad were never the fanciest — they were the ones where someone local insisted we sit down and eat. We are opening our home to return that favor from Lyon.

Details

Check-in from 4pm. Third-floor walk-up — no elevator. Private room, shared bath, linens, towels, and WiFi included. We eat dinner together at least once; tell us dietary preferences early. Checkout by 10am.
