Our Family Story
My family has lived in the hills above Antigua for generations. Our home looks out toward Volcán de Agua, and on clear mornings the whole valley feels close enough to touch. I am Maya Kaqchikel on my grandmother's side, and Spanish on my father's — that mix shows up in our kitchen, our stories, and the way we welcome guests. Sunday is sacred for us. The house fills with cousins, pots of pepián, and children running between the courtyard and the garden where we grow herbs and roses. We hope you remember learning to grind spices on the metate with my aunt, or hearing my grandmother pray quietly before a meal, as much as any monument in town. We host slowly and sincerely. Antigua has many beautiful hotels; we offer something different — our family table, honest conversation, and a view that reminds you the land here is alive.
Why We Host
I traveled to Europe in my twenties and stayed with families who treated me like kin. When I came home, I wanted travelers in Guatemala to feel that same dignity — not as tourists passing through, but as guests in our home with stories worth sharing.
