Our Family Story

Hello! My family can offer a fun cultural stay in a city very close to Washington, DC. With us, you can visit that city, or tour the local battlefields of the American Civil War. We live in “wine country,” and enjoy an afternoon at a winery often. Our town has many free concerts in the summer, and other fun events throughout the year. Including karaoke! That’s one of my favorite things to do while the kids are at their Wednesday evening activity. My husband prefers the mountains to the city, so we occasionally go there. There are many opportunities for sightseeing, including astronomy events. October through December are the most festive months in our city, but the rest of the year also brings many fun activities. You can expect from us three meals a day, a clean bedroom and bathroom, and of course companionship. We want you to feel like part of our family.

Why We Host

My husband often has guests come from his native country, Bolivia. I have fallen in love with hosting. I enjoy the fun of taking our guests to visit our nation’s capital, Washington, DC, to the east, or to the mountains in the west (we live between the City and the mountains). I also enjoy cooking real American cuisine for guests, not fast food. It’s also a wonderful experience for my children to meet people from different backgrounds.

Details

Our neighborhood is very quiet. There is a house next door to us, but no one has lived there in a year. Our property is full of trees. We take walks sometimes, and visit with the neighbors if they are outside. We have a driveway that can fit two vehicles, and parking is easy. There is also a turn-around area in front of our house that guests can park in. We live at the end of a dead-end street.
